Frequently Asked Questions

How much waste should you put in a skip bin?

Only fill the skip bin so that it is level across the top. Overfilling is a safety hazard for our staff and other road users during transport. If a bin is overfilled, you may be required to remove the excess waste or hire an additional skip bin to make the load safe.

How can I get more space in my skip bin?

Break down all waste items and compress them where possible. This helps minimise gaps and ensures you make the most of your skip bin capacity.

Can I move a skip bin?

No. Please do not attempt to move the skip bin from where it is placed, as this can damage the bin. North East Bin Hire will do our best to position it where requested. Any damage caused to the bin may result in additional charges.

What if I put prohibited waste in the skip bin?

Placing prohibited waste into your bin can result in extra charges to cover the safe handling and disposal of these items. If you’re unsure whether an item is allowed, please contact us before adding it to the bin.

How can I pay for the skip bin hire?

We accept cash, credit card, and direct credit payments.

How does North East Bin Hire charge?

Pricing is negotiated based on the bin size and the weight or type of waste being disposed of.

What items shouldn’t you place in a skip bin?

In the interests of safety, avoid adding the following items into the skip bin. Additional charges may apply to dispose of these items correctly.

Prohibited items include:

  • Asbestos
  • Tyres
  • Oil
  • Paint or paint products
  • Herbicides and pesticides
